Context & objectives

As part of the modernization of the electrical installation, the legacy Allen-Bradley medium-voltage soft starters were replaced with a new solution based on AuCom MVE soft starters. The objective was to carry out the installation, connection, integration and commissioning of the new medium-voltage starting solution.

Medium-Voltage (MV) Area

The MV zone gathers the AuCom MVE cabinet's main power equipment: soft starter power assemblies, line & bypass switching devices, disconnect / earth switch, MV protection fuses, current transformers, and the interlock mechanism.

Low-Voltage (LV) Area

The LV zone includes the AuCom MVE soft starter controller, the SYMAP Compact +F3 motor protection relay, the interface board between the LV and MV areas, and the Arcteq AQ-101 arc-flash protection relay, providing control, supervision and protection for the installation.

Commissioning

After installation and cabling, electrical checks and functional tests were performed to verify the connections, control signals and operation of the associated equipment before commissioning.
